Our History

The evolution of the feed milling industry represents a journey of rapid modernization and escalating technological demands. As industrialization reshaped agriculture and animal husbandry, the critical need for scientifically formulated, consistent, and bio-secure animal nutrition became the cornerstone of food security and livestock productivity.
To address fragmentation within this vital sector, the Feed Industry Practitioners Association of Nigeria (FIPAN) was established. Formed as a crucial unifying umbrella, FIPAN was structured to harmonize diverse stakeholders across the entire animal feed value chain. By setting strict quality benchmarks, standardizing production methodologies, and serving as the collective voice to regulatory institutions, FIPAN has successfully fostered collaboration and sustainable growth for feed millers, farmers, and consumers nationwide.

Our History & Evolution

The journey of the feed milling industry in Nigeria is a narrative of resilience, scaling from fragmented regional milling hubs into a unified pillar of national food security. Historically, independent practitioners operated in silos, facing unpredictable raw material supply chains, varying bio-security standards, and a lack of consolidated national representation.
To bridge these critical gaps, the Feed Industry Practitioners Association of Nigeria (FIPAN) was established. Acting as a harmonizing force, FIPAN integrates key stakeholders across the entire animal feed value chain—including crop farmers, nutritional researchers, industrial millers, and livestock producers—to drive strict quality compliance, advocate for progressive agro-policies, and secure sustainable protein production nationwide.
